How We Planned Our Honeymoon Around the World

Our trip AROUND THE WORLD is complete! 🌎

BLESSED is an understatement for this trip and honeymoon of a LIFETIME 🙌🏼

I can’t even begin to explain how much traveling means to us! Our minds/outlooks on life are heavily impacted through our travels and after this last trip our horizons are expanded even more 🙏🏼

However, we recognize a trip like this is expensive and takes some financial planning to make it possible.

HOW WE MADE THIS TRIP POSSIBLE:

1️⃣ Saved money/bank rewards/airline mileage for about a year (we were engaged for 1.5 years and we knew we wanted to go big for our honeymoon). We looked at flight costs and mileage requirements about a year in advance to see what we were going to need to save in order to make the trip possible.

2️⃣ Booked flights using mileage. Casey and I both have an Alaska Airlines card which helps us retain miles for every dollar spent and their partner airlines allowed us to travel to international destinations.

3️⃣ Booked flights on airlines that routed us through places we wanted to stop (Singapore was the connecting country to get to Maldives so we knew an extended stay wouldn’t require a lot of extra mileage points. Same with Dubai, it was just a super long layover)

4️⃣ BOOK YOUR STAY IN THE OFF SEASON! This means weather might be iffy (it rained half our time in the Maldives) but our stay was nearly half the price it is during high season.

5️⃣ All inclusive resorts help us A LOT! 🥂 All our activities, food, and drinks are included! We also stay at hotels where breakfast is included if not staying at an all inclusive.

6️⃣ Put it on your vision board!  When I want something, I work EXTRA hard to make it happen! 👏🏼 This is not a joke. If you try to strive PAST your financial capability or maybe past your expectations of where your travels may take you, you will work harder to make it happen!

For our travels during our Honeymoon, we stayed in Singapore for 3 nights, Maldives for 6 nights, and Dubai for 1 night. Our hotels were Marina Bay Sands, Club Med Finolhu, and Sheraton Grand Hotel.
